Description

Abbreviation for "production meetings."

Why It's Wild

Prod meetings are gatherings of design team members for an individual show to discuss updates and plans from each designer, to check in with the director about the rehearsal process, and to discuss business plans from the producer. One meeting is reserved for initial design presentations from each designer and another for final design presentations to the StuCo theatre board putting on the production, usually two to four weeks later. These meetings typically occur weekly at 10:30 or 11 PM on weekdays in a room in Norris, and they happen daily in the space during the week of the production. The theatre speech community uses prod meetings, both written and spoken in informal social contexts on campus.

Example Sentence

I wish prod meetings were at a more convenient time, but that's when everyone is free.
