Description
The large auditorium on the first floor of the Norris Student Center (see Norris), located at 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston, IL 60208. It is used primarily as a performance space by many dance and theater student groups on campus and used to hold their shows. It is also used sometimes for other events that are not performing arts-related, such as hosting a guest speaker.
Usage
McCormick Auditorium is the most commonly used form within the Northwestern student community. As it is the official name of the lecture hall, it is also commonly used in official Northwestern University writing. Norris Auditorium is an alternate form used by the Northwestern student community. It is believed that this term is used due to confusion between the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science and McCormick Auditorium.
