Description

An abbreviation for Music Administration Building, the old site for Northwestern's Bienen School of Music located at 711 Elgin Road. The building was built in 1873 and had originally served as a women's dormitory until 1940[1] when the School of Music moved there from its old location at 1822 Sherman Avenue[2]. The building was then renamed to the Music Administration Building from Willard Hall[3]. Since the opening of RCMA in 2015, MAB has been unoccupied.

Etymology

Derived from the initials of Music Administration Building.
