Part of Speech

Noun

Pronunciation

[ ef / 'bee / ahr]

Description

Abbreviation for "freshman board representative."

Why It's Wild

FBRs are first year students in the theatre department who are selected to be on one of the nine undergraduate theatre boards at the end of fall quarter each year. Each board selects one or two students for this position. They usually attend board meetings, shadow board members, and participate in the production process for each show that the board puts on in its season. [1] The theatre speech community uses FBR, both written and spoken in informal social contexts on campus.

Example Sentence

We have the best FBRs in StuCo, hands down.
