Why It's Wild

Pref sheets are forms filled out by students acting in Northwestern theatre productions to indicate their show preference order. After attending callback auditions for certain productions, students go to the third floor of Norris to fill out a pref sheet for StuCo callbacks, or they email the Artistic Director of the Wirtz Center with preferences for their callbacks. This information is used in conferrals to resolve preferences among the performers, directors, producers, and stage managers for each show that quarter. The theatre speech community uses pref sheet, both written and spoken in informal social contexts on campus.
