History
Swift Hall was originally built in 1909 from Bedford limestone as a gift from Mrs. Gustavus F. Swift and her son Edward F. Swift. It was designed by George W. Maher with influences of the Prairie School of Architecture to house the College of Engineering. In 1945, it received an addition for training facilities for the Navy College Training Program and was renamed the Naval Science Building. It was later returned to its original name, Swift.[1]
