Description

Abbreviation for "deliberations."

Why It's Wild

Delibs are meetings to determine producers, directors, new members, or show selection for the coming year of productions for each Northwestern undergraduate theatre board. They can last for many hours, and they often occur early in the morning or late at night at a location on campus. They are also known for being particularly draining and intense. The theatre speech community uses delibs, both written and spoken in informal social contexts on campus.

Example Sentence

I'm exhausted, I was at delibs until 12:30 last night!

References

Based on survey and interview data from 10 Northwestern theatre majors.
