Description

The three-story building on south campus that houses the Northwestern history department. It features Ionic columns and decorative applied pilasters at the top story of its façade.[1] It is one of three buildings surrounding The Rock, the other two being Kresge and University Hall.

History

Harris was originally built in 1915 from limestone as a home for the social sciences. It takes its named from Norman Wait Harris, a Chicago banker, philanthropist, and trustee and benefactor of Northwestern.[1]
