Description

The three-story building that houses the Northwestern history department. It features Ionic columns and decorative applied pilasters at the top story of its façade. It is one of three buildings surrounding The Rock, the other two being Kresge and University Hall.

History

Harris was originally built in 1915 from limestone as a home for the social sciences. It takes its named from Norman Wait Harris, a Chicago banker, philanthropist, and trustee and benefactor of Northwestern.
