Description
A show meant to introduce new members of a Greek organization to the rest of the Greek and wider Northwestern community.
Many traditions at a probate include:
- Being masked until the end
- stepping
- Greeting members of the organization
- Greeting members of other Greek organizations that are present
- Introduction of bigs and the individuals who guided the members through the intake/pledge process
- Introduction of selves.
Usage
The term is used primarily in the Multicultural Greek Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council communities. It is used both in informal and formal contexts as well as in spoken word and written text.
