Description
NAVICA is a rapid antigen test used by Northwestern University to track the spread of COVID-19 on campus. The test results are usually ready in 15-30 minutes.
History
On February 21st, 2021, Northwestern University announced that it partnered with a new COVID-19 testing program, NAVICA. The University had been using Tempus prior but made the change to Color in preparation for Winter Quarter 2021.
Things Required to Take the Test
- Proof of Northwestern University as a "Connected Organization".
- NAVICAID and Photo ID.
- Completed Symptom Tracker.
Steps for taking the test
- Sanitize Hands
- Lower mask below nose but make sure mouth is still covered
- Take swab and rub inside of nose 1 inch deep, 15 times on each side.
- Sanitize hands again
Usage
- "I'm going to the Jacob's Center to get NAVICA today."
- "Which COVID test did you get? Oh, I got NAVICA."
