Description

NAVICA is a rapid antigen test used by Northwestern University to track the spread of COVID-19 on campus. The test results are usually ready in 15-30 minutes.

History

On February 21st, 2021, Northwestern University announced that it partnered with a new COVID-19 testing program, NAVICA. The University had been using Tempus prior but made the change to Color in preparation for Winter Quarter 2021.

Things Required to Take the Test

  1. Proof of Northwestern University as a "Connected Organization".
  2. NAVICAID and Photo ID.
  3. Completed Symptom Tracker.

Steps for taking the test

  1. Sanitize Hands
  2. Lower mask below nose but make sure mouth is still covered
  3. Take swab and rub inside of nose 1 inch deep, 15 times on each side.
  4. Sanitize hands again

Usage

  1. "I'm going to the Jacob's Center to get NAVICA today."
  2. "Which COVID test did you get? Oh, I got NAVICA."
