Part of Speech

Proper Noun

Pronunciation

/wɑɪldsɑɪd/

Description

The official student section of Northwestern Athletics[1]. It can be used to refer to the student section in general at Northwestern sporting events, and it is also an official student organization with an executive board and various committees. All Northwestern sporting events are free for undergraduate students with a WildCard, so everyone can be a part of Wildside. During football games, members of the Wildside organization lead the rest of the student section in cheers, games, and growling, sometimes collaborating with NUMB.

The Wildside logo[2].

Usage

The proper name "Wildside" is usually used to refer to the student organization and its formal structure. At games themselves, students often just say they are sitting in "the student section", though by doing so they are a part of Wildside.

Example Sentences

  1. I'm a member of Wildside!
  2. The band is working with Wildside to try to get the students more involved in games.
